This past weekend saw NBA’s annual All Star Weekend make its way to New York City. Along with the well known festivities including the 3 point shootout, dunk contest, and All Star game there where special events happening all around the city. The areas concentrated around the Barklays Center and MSG were especially busy with NBA and NBA sponsored pop up shops.
I was fortunate enough to get a call from the jumpman, the Jordan brand to DJ at their basketball/event space Terminal 23 this past Saturday. I got to DJ for a private gym run, and also supplied tunes for a few NBA All Stars in town checking out the space.
Gotta give a big shout to the homies at Brand Jordan!
2014 was another great year for me personally and professionally! In the everyday grind of life I totally overlooked keeping the blog updated. Big apologies on my part. I was fortunate enough to do dj a few really cool events in 2014 and I’m super thankful if you hired me, recommended me, or partied with me!
A few of the past events I DJed in 2014 included the Jordan 29 press launch, the X-Men Days Of Future Past premier, a community event for Derek Jeter by Jordan Brand, and multiple Macy’s in stores.
I also did a number of weddings from as far away as Los Angeles to upstate New York, and private events for multiple clients including the Brooklyn District Attorneys Office. All the while I held down a weekly Friday night residency at popular Brooklyn beer garden Franklin Park and made appearances and DJ’ed guest sets at many parties in the city.
I can only hope to have as much success in 2015 as I did in 2014 and I promise to keep the blog updated along the way!
I’ll be djing a guest set at DJ Lindsey’s event on the last Wednesday of August. Expect to hear some left of field hip-hop jams, some remixes and other assorted non-commercial goodies. Hope to see you out!
As always, you can find new of more upcoming events i’m djing by checking the blog!
I’m DJing an event for Adidas tomorrow 3/16 from 8-10. The event is a pop up nail salon for the ladies. Details below:
Aptly named the “Good Luck Charm” Pop-Up Nail Salon, the concept storefront sits on 365 Broadway and just blocks away from heavily trafficked Canal Street. A full fledged nail salon that doubles as an event space, visitors to the venue will receive a complete manicure treatment courtesy of Christina Rinaldi. Hailed from Brooklyn, the famed nail artist is best known for her nail studio Prima Creative and its unconventional stenciling and color mix. To perfect the combination, Rinaldi also incorporated adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2013 women’s hero silhouette, the GLC, into her work for this weekend’s festivities. In addition to fun nail arts, expect a rotation of special guests to drop by the store for a visit.
The “Good Luck Charm” Nail Salon by Teyana Taylor, Christina Rinaldi and adidas Originals opens today and lasts through Saint Patrick’s Day on March 17th.
I’m honored to be playing at the upcoming “1992” 6 Year Anniversary party. “1992” is a highly respected throwback party thrown by good friends Vashtie & Oscar. The party has been featured in the New York Times as well as a few big international publications.
I’m really excited because I get to go back and play my favorite tunes from the 90’s – Hip-Hop, Reggae, House, R&B, a lil rock, whatever comes to mind!
It’s gonna be live! Hope to see yall out!
The homies at Nike have asked me to be a part of their summer long basketball tournament at Rivington Courts. Nike created a full size wood floor basketball court in a schoolyard on Rivington and Stanton streets in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Every Wednesday Nike will be hosting games featuring some of New York City’s best streetball and High School players. I’ll be providing the music early, from 5 till 8 with Hot 97’s DJ Enuff taking over for the last hour for the late game.
Its always free, and rain permitting, will be every wednesday. If you’d like to come check it out come through! The court entrance is 145 Stanton between Norfolk & Suffolk.
